In series seven Amy really struggles to cope with Sam’s diagnosis. Amy left the series when her mother got a new job in North Yorkshire.

His behaviour began to make a great recovery in series 7 when he found himself in competition with Pheonix Taylor as his crush on Jodi Allen began to shine through. When he first started at Waterloo Road, Kyle quickly assembled a gang of wannabes and did his best to spend as little time as possible at school. Series 7, finally sees Kyle taking some responsibility when he discovers that his girlfriend’s had a baby.

Michaela started out as one of Waterloo Road’s biggest bullies, with a bag full of sass and the attitude of a future ASBO queen. However, with some time, attention (and perhaps some kind of miracle) Michaela learnt to reign in her infamous temper. Since leaving Waterloo Road, Michaela’s been working as a steward for a ninety-nine-pence-a-flight airline, on their Manchester to Glasgow run. You can catch up with Michaela over on Waterloo Road Reunited.

Maxine is now back at school and is making progress although she’s easily led astray by Janeece Bryant, and falls headlong in love with the psychopathic Earl Kelly, whose tough guy image is only dropped when he's alone with her. Unfortunately, Earl can't change and their relationship comes to an explosive end.
Rhona & Shona Mansfield - Played by Millie & Hope Katanaa
Age: 15
Year: 11
Family: Each other.
Duration: Series 7 Episode 1 - Series 7 Episode 30
Shona and Rhona love each other but their relationship is highly competitive – to the point of obsessive. If Shona gets attention or a good mark, if she’s picked to do a job by a teacher, Rhona will want to know: ‘why is it always Shona?’ If Rhona wears her hair one way or buys herself a new skirt or top, Shona will be scared of Rhona getting more attention from friends and boys that she will have to wear exactly the same – which drives her twin crazy. And all things vice versa. Each is just scared of the other doing something different.
Getting them out in the morning is, therefore, a nightmare and they may well often be late or one of them may have to go home to change into whatever the other’s wearing or change her hairdo in the girls’ loos before registration. This obsession with each other’s success will, of course, make teachers’ lives hell. They’ve got to be so careful not to praise one at the expense of another or there’ll be a tantrum.
However, it’s not all hell on earth. The girls actually like company – as long as they’re treated the same. They have exactly the same opinions of people and have, in a sense, their own little world. They have words they’ve made up to describe their feelings and their reactions to situations. They come in a job lot.

Philip Ryan - Played by Dean Smith
Bumbling, awkward and radioactive when it comes to attracting girls – it’s like Philip Ryan was given an anti-smooth vaccine at birth. Philip’s quick, funny and endearing – in fairer universe he’d be popular, but at school he was the resident oddball, just desperate to be included. Philip’s flakey mother, Melissa, dragged him around the country throughout his childhood, so when they finally settled at Waterloo Road, Philip quickly grew close to his reliable aunt. Unfortunately his ‘Aunt Rachel’ was known as ‘Miss Mason’ to everyone else and being outed as the Head Teacher’s nephew, meant Philip kissed goodbye to his last remaining shred of street cred.
Since graduating Philip has been doing ‘this and that’. He got a job in a bar but frightened the customers. He was lucky to bag work cleaning buses at nights but kept falling asleep on the back seat. You can see more of Phil inWaterloo Road Reunited.
